Application
Anti-HOXC8 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Homeobox C8 (HOXC8) is involved in cell growth, migration and metastasis of various cancers. Hox genes are important for embryonic development. Mutations in this gene are implicated in the development of cancers, such as leukemias or neoplasms of the breast, prostate, kidney, colon, skin and brain.

General description
Homeobox C8 (HOXC8) is a member of homeobox (HOX) family. It is a transcription factor, expressed in neural tube, brain, breast and adult bone marrow. HOX genes consist of a highly conserved 60-amino-acid region (the homeobox) with DNA-binding activity, that contributes to their activity as transcription factors. The gene is located on human chromosome 12q13.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 96-110 of human HOXC8 conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in mouse and rat.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
